Farazila Abu asked:

Nearly 1/4 of the World’s Population speaks the Chinese language. The language is spoken not only in China, Taiwan, and Singapore, but it is also spoken throughout Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. Traditional Chinese culture, from martial arts, Confucianism and Chinese cuisine has an enormous influence on East and Southeast Asian nations. Currently, Chinese language classes have the highest enrollment in American universities and colleges. Today China has one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Those who can speak Mandarin Chinese proficiently will find jobs in various fields such as business, government, international relations, information technology, tourism, education, translation and much, much more.

Previously a state-controlled economy, the Chinese government introduced market-oriented economic reforms in the early 1980s. Now only a third of its economy is directly controlled by the state. China is strong in manufacturing and agriculture, but its service sector is slowly catching up, accounting for 32.5% of the economy. China’s cheap labour costs have turned the country into ‘the world’s factory’, manufacturing most of the world’s clothing, electronics and household items. In 2005, China’s global trade surplus was at US$102 billion. China is also one of the largest importers in the world, buying cars, high tech products, raw minerals, machineries and equipment, chemical and petroleum. However, China’s shrinking agricultural still employs over 40% of its workforce and keeps China as the largest agricultural country in the world.

China GDP per capita is US$6800, making China the second largest economy after the U.S. China’s recent gain in trades has upset many trade protectionists, particularly in U.S and Europe, who have been pressing China to revalue the yuan to soften China’s competitive pricing edge on its exports. In 2005, they achieved a moderate success when China unpegged the yuan to the dollar, driving it up around 2% against the greenback

A slightly more expensive yuan doesn’t mean bad news for visitors, China’s continuing economic reforms are bringing in more competition in virtually every sector, resulting in lowered prices and better services. The increase of living standards in China also means better infrastructure, improved transportation systems, better healthcare and environmental protection, all of which are good news if you’re living in China. So if you want to be part of a fastest growing economy, you have to be in China an on order for you to be successful in China, you have to master the Chinese Language

If you are serious about mastering the Chinese language and learning to speak Chinese fast, please click the link below and check out this highly rated online Chinese course. This Chinese language course is currently the best on the internet and you will be guaranteed good results fast.

Click here to learn Chinese fast

Hope you will speak Chinese fluently in the Future. Good luck!!

Mandarin Hour asked:

In 1980s America, students were offered language courses as young as 12 years old. Move on to the year 2000, and this decade’s children are way ahead of the game. Schools across America have made foreign language a requirement to graduate and also start the students as young as 5 years old. Beyond that, they aren’t just offering the usual French, Spanish, Italian and German – they’re offering the language of the present, and certainly the future – Mandarin Chinese.

Learning Mandarin Chinese at an early age has shown that children grasp the language more readily. This is because at a young age, the brain has the ability to compartmentalize various languages correctly. This allows the child a greater chance to attain the native pronunciation and grammar. Not only has research shown that learning a foreign language enhances cognitive development, but overall basic skills performance in elementary school children as well.

There’s an overall lack of self-consciousness when learning a language at an earlier age. Children are more apt to try out new words and phrases then when they are older, when there is the tendency to be afraid of pronouncing the words incorrectly. The spontaneity leads to learning to speak Chinese with a quicker fluency.

If you’re looking for additional ways to assist your child in learning Chinese, new types of technology which weren’t available in the past can help students outside the classroom. The Nintendo DS, for example, has a product which guides you through a Chinese language tutorial. And with the innovation of the web, it’s become easier to learn Mandarin online.

Jeff Lillie asked:

The world is shrinking. The overall economy is becoming increasingly global. Diverse cultures are just a plane ride away. The Internet is connecting communities all across the planet. It makes more sense than ever before to learn new languages in order to participate, communicate, and prosper. And Chinese is an ideal language to choose. In fact you can learn to speak Chinese easier than you may think.

Learning Chinese may seem extremely challenging to most Westerners. After all, it is extremely different than many more familiar languages such as French or Spanish. So why should you try to learn Chinese? There are plenty of reasons. Over 850 million people on the planet currently speak Mandarin Chinese. China is increasingly becoming a significant economic force with many emerging opportunities for the global business community. China represents an ancient and rich culture that has and will continue to have a huge impact on Western society.

So how can you learn Chinese? You could take a college course or find a language tutor, but those represent some of the more time-consuming and expensive options. Or, you could study at your own pace in the comfort of your own home with a special language program that can readily be purchased on the Internet.

Of all the language programs out there that can you can use to learn to speak Chinese, the one I would highly recommend is “Rocket Chinese”. Rocket Chinese is downloadable for less than $100. With it you can learn this new language quickly through a series of audio lessons, memory games, and quizzes. Unlike many competitive products, they offer access to a member’s only help forum. You can choose a free 6-day trial of the product and there’s a money back guarantee.

So whether you’re looking to travel, grow your business, communicate better, or just expand your mind, check out the Rocket Chinese Language Program.

Susan Lee asked:

Many people faced with the task of how to learn mandarin fly into a absolute panic. The symbols look so strange to none Chinese speakers, and the words sound nothing like the languages we may be accustomed to. But there are shortcuts to learning Chinese that will have even the most rookie student speaking this unique language in no time.

You can overcome the first issue – those strange-looking but beautiful symbols by separating speaking Chinese from the act of reading it. Admittedly Mandarin doesn’t use the Roman alphabet, or technically, any alphabet at all. Those symbols are called characters, and there are a lot of them. But fortunately, many English speakers learn to speak beginner Chinese without learning Chinese symbols, because Mandarin can be written in a Western alphabet called Pinyin. This greatly helps people like you not speaking Chinese with how to learn the Chinese language faster!

The second stumbling block – the sound of Mandarin words themselves can be explained by realizing that Mandarin is very dependent on pitch and tone. For example, the sound “ma” said in a high-pitched tone could mean “mother” in a different tone, it could mean “horse.” Thus, it’s very important that learners concerned with how to learn Chinese approach this mysterious language in a way that allows them to hear the words and phrases pronounced. Rocket Mandarin is a excellent language learning program for this reason; it will help you learn the Mandarin language in the quickest and most effective way and you could learn to speak basic Mandarin within 8-weeks.

When deciding how to learn Chinese, you must know which type of Chinese you need to study. There are quite a few variations of Chinese; whether these are dialects of a single language, or related but separate languages like Thai and Korean, for instance, is difficult to say. Two of the most commonly used variants of Chinese are Mandarin (the standard language of both the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan), and Cantonese (more commonly spoken in Hong Kong). But each language variant is totally unique from the others, and a Cantonese speaker cannot be understood by a someone who speaks only Mandarin.

In addition to practicing with a good audio-based program such as Rocket Chinese, it helps a lot to befriend a native speaker to chat with. This is true when learning any new language, but it’s a very important factor in how to learn Chinese. Have you ever heard someone say an unfamiliar name on the phone, and failed to understand what they were trying to say to you? This is because you can’t see the movements of their mouth as they say the words. With so many Chinese words dependent upon tone and the slightest variation of pronunciation, it helps so much to have a native Chinese speaker to watch as well as hear.

You say you don’t know any native Chinese speakers? I’ll bet you do! Is there a Chinese restaurant nearby? If its proprietors speak the variant of Chinese you want to study, make them your new best friends, because they’ll definitely will help you on how to learn Chinese! Is there a Chinese community in your area? In all likelihood, there will be Chinese people there. Look on the Internet for forums and meet-ups featuring Chinese language and culture. And as a last plan, you can learn a great deal from viewing Chinese movies.

Practice at least 30 minutes a day! You’ll never sound like a native Chinese speaker, but before you know it, you’ll be able to speak conversational Chinese with ease. And your friends will never know that only a few weeks ago, you had no idea how to converse Chinese! Finally pay a visit to www.ecpod.com and you can make a lot of Chinese friends to test your Mandarin.

Shun Minh asked:

The Chinese language is a complicated communication system that has numerous written characters as well as a number of different dialects. If you are interested in learning how to speak Mandarin, you will first need to understand the basics of this Chinese dialect.

Mandarin was originally defines as a group of dialects that was spoken by the people of Beijing as well as the area of northern China. The term is now used to describe the standard Chinese language, in which case it is the type that is spoken by the largest amount of Chinese people. This language is spoken in the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of China (Taiwan), and is one of four official languages that are spoken in Singapore. This factor means that your knowledge of this language will allow for easier communication with the greatest number of Chinese-speaking countries, making your decision to learn to speak Mandarin a good one.

The mandarin language utilizes the Pinyin alphabet, which is Latin based and uses four different tones. There are many Web sites that allow you to hear these tones as you learn to speak Mandarin. The following are a few basic phrases that you can learn to help you to become acquainted with the Mandarin pronunciation.

1. Ni Hao – Pronounced like “Nee How.” Translates into “You Good” and

can be used as a greeting.

2. Xie Xie – Pronounced like “Shi-e Shi-e” or “Zhi-Zhi.” It means “Thank

you” in Mandarin.

3. Bu Ke Qi – Pronounced like “Boo Ker Chi” with the “r” in “Ker” being

pronounced with a British accent. It means “You’re Welcome.”

4. Tai Hao Le – Pronounced like “Thai Hao Lah.” It means “Wonderful.”

5. Na Li Na Li – Pronounced “Nah Lee Nah Lee.” This phrase is the proper

Chinese response when someone compliments you or your spouse.

You should not use the term “Xie Xie” as this is not the way the

Chinese respond to compliments.

6. Wo Jiao – Pronounced “Wah Jee Ow.” It means “My Name is…” and

you should fill in your name.

7. Wu de ming je shi – Pronounced “Wuu Duh Meeng Jee Shi”. It also

means “My name is…”

8. Da Jia Hao – Pronounced as “Dah Jee Ah How.” Loosely translated, it

means “Hello, everyone,” Good day, everyone,” or “wish everyone

well.” This is a good opening if you are planning on making a speech

to a Mandarin-speaking audience.

9. Zao Shang – Pronounced like “Zow Shahng.” It means “Good Morning.”

10. Xia Shang – Pronounced like “Shee ah Shahng.” It means “Good Afternoon.”

11. Wan Shang – Pronounced like “Wahn Shahng.” It means “Good Evening.”

12. Zai Jian – Pronounced like “Zigh Jee In.” It means “Goodbye.”

13. Wo Hui Yi Dianr Zhong Wen – Pronounced like “Waw Hway Ee Dee In A Zah Hoong Wun” It Means: “I speak a little Chinese.”

These are just a few basic conversational phrases that you can use when you learn to speak Mandarin. There are a few helpful tips that you may want to keep in mind when using these phrases. You should always repeat them as this is the way the Chinese conduct themselves during a conversation. You should smile as this is part of the Chinese etiquette system and avoid shrugging, as this has no meaning in the Chinese culture.

When you want to learn to speak Mandarin, you must also be sure to have the proper tone in your speech as well as maintaining Chinese etiquette, so that you can be clearly understood while giving no offense.

Mike Cheng asked:

Learning to speak Chinese you say? Why would I do?

Well, to begin with is the language spoken by more people than any other language on earth! And the 2008 Olympic Games are underway in China. Several thousand people from around the world travel to China, where most people speak only Chinese. You’ll need to know enough to ask for directions or for lunch!

The Chinese economy is developing rapidly. China is producing goods that are sold worldwide. Enormous quantities of commerce are under way between the Anglo-Saxon countries and China. We need to know how to communicate with the Chinese in own language.

To help the Chinese learn English conversation every day, the Rocket Language people have developed a language other super-learning courses. They use the conversation learning, which allows you to learn Chinese the same way you learned English, learn some words and practice using them in sentences.

Gradually you expand your vocabulary and master increasingly complex sentences. You learn through communication, making real new words and applicable to everyday life that you learn to express and understand others. The course uses many well-known words and phrases within the context of realistic every day.

The course includes 31 lessons with interactive audio lessons in grammar corresponding to explain the mechanisms behind the words and sounds. The lessons average about 25 minutes each, a total of more than 14 hours of learning.

They teach the Chinese modern, ignoring the older more formal, which are little used more (the English equivalent of learning from Hemingway, not Shakespeare!) You learn a lot of words with Chinese MegaVocab, their software text Game-based building that are included.

The emphasis is on learning real conversational skills, fast. You learn how to help. Forget the old class monotony of memorizing vocabulary. You learn through interaction through questions, answers and friends every day. That is why it is interesting and effective to help you quickly master communication in Chinese.

You can get the entire course shipped to you in printed books and CD for just under $ 350. Or, for just under $ 100 you can get the entire journey in downloadable digital form. Once on your computer’s hard disk, you can download lessons from your iPod or other portable audio device.

You can burn CD’s lessons, and then take them with you to listen and interact with any CD on the player. You choose the time and place for your lessons and you decide the speed of coverage of materials. You learn a great language; you can learn to speak without an accent.

You can even take your lessons with you and the practice of their planes during your trip to China!

It seems that languages Rocket has created another winning language learning product here. With excellent quality, mixing a variety of teaching / learning methods and prices very reasonable, it should be welcomed and widely used.
